I have no doubt that these filters reduce chlorine and other contaminants, but I wonder about the safety; I've used this filter for almost a year and every one drops carbon, both inside the reservoir and into the drinking water. Were it only 1 filter I'd understand, but on to my second six pack of filters I still get carbon deposits and black flakes every time, every filter. So if filters cost about $5 and work for 12 gallons of water, I've saved A) $7 over supermarket water prices; B) trips/gas to supermarket and carrying heavy jugs of water; However, what is my health worth?
