The Brita filters consistently produce drinking water that is better tasting than bottled water at a fraction of the cost and without the use of all the plastic bottles.
Regardless of the Brita container used the flow rate through the filter is about the same. Drinking water, coffee, bourbon and water, and anything with ice tastes better.
One of the concerns with the inline filters is that they remove chlorine or other disinfectants from the water on the faucet side of the filter. If not used frequently there is a potential problem for both contamination and picking up the taste from metallic piping systems. Brita cautions that once water is filtered it should be stored in the refrigerator.
If you like pure water at an economical price and care enough not to create more plastic bottles this is the system for you.
Brita listened to those who thought the original containers were way too large and cumbersome. The new pitchers are great.
For the kids cool water from the refrigerator is much better than soft drinks and again a fraction of the cost.
I have three of the pitchers (office, home and cabin) and disposed of my old large container.
